Product Designer
Designing interfaces and flows that make early-stage products feel obvious — and prototyping them fast.
About Public Knowledge
Public Knowledge Studio is a small design studio based in New Delhi. We primarily work with startups to design brands, landing pages, digital products and experiences. Our work often involves new technologies, and we actively explore new ways of designing and producing digital artefacts — with AI and otherwise. We value thoughtful work, curiosity about new tools and technologies, and learning by doing. Our studio is small by design, and everyone on the team has meaningful influence over the work we do and how the studio evolves.
Location
This position is work from office in our studio in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Remote or hybrid negotiable for the right candidate.
The Role
This role is for a designer who loves shaping how products work, not just how they look. As a product designer at Public Knowledge, you'll design interfaces and flows for early-stage startups — often before there's a finished product to point to. You'll move quickly from idea to prototype, working in Figma and increasingly in code and AI-assisted tools to make concepts real. Because our projects are varied and our team is small, you'll have a lot of ownership: working directly with founders to turn a product vision into something people can use and understand. If you're after a hyper-specialised role at a large product org, this will feel too broad — but if you like range, speed, and craft, you'll thrive.
What you'll do
- Design interfaces and user flows for early-stage digital products
- Move from wireframe to high-fidelity quickly, keeping craft high throughout
- Build prototypes in Figma, in code (HTML/CSS, frameworks), and with AI-assisted tools
- Shape lightweight design systems that help small teams ship consistently
- Work directly with founders to translate product vision into clear, usable design
- Partner with engineers — and write enough code yourself when it helps — to get designs shipped
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of experience in product or UI/UX design
- A portfolio showing end-to-end product work — flows, interfaces, and outcomes
- Strong UI craft paired with systems thinking
- Comfort using code as a creative tool, and curiosity about AI-assisted workflows
- The ability to make decisions and move independently through ambiguity
Signals We Look For in Portfolios
- Products designed end-to-end, from problem to shipped interface
- Prototyping in code, not just static screens
- Design systems or reusable patterns you've built
- Evidence of shipping: real products, real users
- Experiments with AI tools or unconventional workflows
- Process and reasoning, not just final mockups
Perks
- Office lunch
- Access to any AI tool you want to use
- Yearly team offsite (last one was in Bangkok!)
How to Apply
- Send your portfolio to careers@publicknowledge.co
- Include a product flow or interface you're proud of, and the thinking behind it
- What's a product you admire for how it works, not just how it looks?
